Meet Hannah

What is your favourite memory from Eden?

It’s hard to choose just one, but there’s a special moment every year when you stand on the hill at Raehills Meadows and see thousands of people dancing, smiling, and coming together. That feeling of community and joy, knowing it’s been built from the ground up by volunteers and local passion, is unforgettable.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced over the years at Eden?

The last few years have been especially challenging, with COVID closures, two years of adverse weather, and now rising costs have all put real pressure on independent festivals like ours. But honestly, one of the biggest ongoing challenges has always been making Eden happen with such limited resources, while keeping it independent and free from corporate influence. It’s a huge labour of love.

What brings you back every year?

The people. Our volunteers, our audience, our crew, our artists, it’s a family. Every year people travel from across Scotland and beyond to be part of Eden, and that loyalty and energy is what keeps us going. Seeing familiar faces return and new ones discover the magic for the first time is always inspiring.

What does Eden mean to you?

Eden is about more than just music and arts; it’s about sustainability and giving back to the environment. From the way we run the site to the vendors and suppliers we work with, we try to make choices that are low-impact and locally rooted. For me, Eden means celebrating creativity while also looking after the land we’re on, and giving something positive back to Dumfries & Galloway and the environment as a whole.

Favourite act of all time?

That’s such a hard one to answer because we’ve had so many incredible acts over the years, across so many different stages and genres. But if I had to choose, I’d say Basement Jaxx in 2023. The atmosphere was electric, the whole crowd was bouncing, the energy was incredible, and it felt like one of those moments where everything came together perfectly. It really captured the spirit of Eden at its best.
